Two Decades Later
Rolex relaunched the original SARU watch twenty years later. In 2005, the GMT-Master 2 was relaunched as reference 116518 in yellow gold to celebrate the 50th anniversary. The new GMT was housed within a 40mm case with stronger lugs. Rolex's debut of the ceramic bezel was also at this time. Rolex gave the material Cerachrom its name, which is an amalgamation of ceramic and chrom (the Greek term for colour). The Rolex 116758 SARU was released in 2006. (The '5' indicates the piece that is gem-get nature). The SARU bezel had 18 trapeze cut rubies, 18 trapeze cut sapphires and 11 trapeze -cut diamonds for hour markers. There was also one triangle-cut diamond to mark the 12 o’clock hour. Two siblings joined the new era SARU. This was the breakdown:

It also featured a diamond set case with brilliant-cut diamonds at the crown guards and lugs. A yellow gold GMT hand was featured on the yellow gold gem-set watches. There are three levels of the watch (please note that these are my descriptions, not Rolex's).
* "Basic" - a plain dial and a yellow gold Oyster bracelet with a gem-set bezel.
* 'Pave’ - Gem-set case and bezel with a pave dial (428 Diamonds) and yellow Gold Oyster bracelet
* 'Full Monty’ - Gem-set case and bezel,breguet replica watches

Rolex did the same thing in 2007 but with white gold

The watch came in three levels of bling, just like the yellow gold model: 'Basic, 'Pave, and 'Full Monty. In 2019, the process was repeated with the Everose SARU version, reference 126755. There were three levels of bling, but only SARU bezels and not SANR were available.

Market Masters
Rolex has a history of making watches for specific markets. I understand that only a few GMT-Masters were made for the Greater China market. These watches were basically stripped-back SARU watches,replica panerai
which were variations of the same theme. The reference 116748 was created in 2014/15. The watch was made of yellow gold and featured a plain dial and case, but the sapphire bezel and ruby bezel. This watch is unique in that it has its own reference. It's a simplified, but not overstated version of the SARU.

Eric Ku, my friend, posted a white gold Richard Mille Replica Watches on Instagram. This was a riff of the BLNR steel GMT-Master that is well-loved, also known as the Batman. It had a plain dial with a white gold case, but a bezel with trapeze-cut blue sapphires. It was stunning and featured the reference number of the plain SARU 2014 with the '4'. However, the full reference number of 116749 SABLNR (sapphires blue et noire) was included. This piece was originally made in only 20 pieces. What is the nickname of this piece? If this were the more sophisticated side of Batman, it would be called the Bruce Wayne.

Bling King Master
The most expensive Rolex GMT-Master watch is the one we will be referring to, and it is undoubtedly the reference 116769 TBR. The reference 116769 TBR white gold GMT watch is literally covered in diamonds. Although Rolex says it is white gold, the watch's mass of diamonds means that there is very little metal visible. It was a good thing that I was able to see one of these watches last November in Geneva, when Mr Ku happened to be wearing one. This is serious ice. The entire case, including the sides, is covered in diamonds. The bracelet, as well as the dial, is completely covered in diamonds. The bezel is made with trapeze-cut diamonds. This is a very valuable piece of kit. The current market value for it is $500,000. You will need a spare link to make it work. This is $25,000. This is truly the Ice Master!
