Revolution asked Le Brassus to tell us what they planned to do for this landmark in its history. This was also possible because Audemars Poigt had earlier celebrated the 40th anniversary Gerald Genta's 1972 Royal Oak. There was still time to put together something smaller.
Around the same time, Mr. Oliviero Bottinelli was talking to Revolution's Editorial director. Wei Koh shared that he thought the "petite Tapisserie" dial from 1993 was the most interesting Offshore. This thought set off a series of thoughts in Mr. Bottinelli's mind, which eventually led him to ask the authorities if they had any stock of the original dials for the 1993 watch. He knew that additional dials had been made for customer service purposes and he asked.
Bottinelli realized that at least 20 dials were available and thought this was an opportunity to create a limited edition reissue of Offshore's "original" Offshore. To move the project forward, Le Brassus had to provide blessings.

They know it would be difficult to get 20 people to Singapore to love the original Offshore. This limited edition would celebrate that, and it would even have a dial from 1993.
From the outside, it was going to be identical to the original reference 25721 ST or "The Beast", as it's known within the collectors community. A few modifications were made to this limited edition in order to make it different from the 1993 debut item.

The original Offshore was fitted with a JLC base movement and a Dubois Depraz chronograph unit. This reissue would be fitted with an AP workhorse, so the caseback had to be open.
